Below are the rules for safe play at The Swamp Paintball Park. These rules are an outline for general recreational play and for any private groups we host. For scenario events be sure to read and familiarize yourself with The Swamp Scenario Rules of Play (SSRP).

  • Our two most important Safety rules at The Swamp are MASKS ON and BARREL BAGS ON. Before entering and while on the playing field your mask must be on and STAY ON at all times - NO EXCEPTIONS!! Before exiting and when off the playing field your barrel bag must be on and STAY ON at all times NO EXCEPTIONS!! Barrel plugs are not acceptable.
  • No fully auto, semi auto only. Response triggers are OK.
  • Our maximum velocity is 285 fps. You must chrono your marker before playing.
  • We play single shot elimination here. One shot anywhere to the body and you are eliminated from the game. Marker shots do not count except on the speedball field or in a scenario game. When you are eliminated raise your marker above your head and exit the field immediately.
  • Dead men don't talk. Don't talk to your team mates after you have been eliminated.
  • If you get hit by a paintball and you are not sure if it broke, call for a paint check. A ref will come over and check you out and let you know if you are eliminated or not. Keep playing untill you are checked as you are still a live player.
  • We have a 20 foot rule in the woods and concept fields. If you are within 20 feet of someone give them a chance to surrender. They must raise their marker immediately to surrender, otherwise shoot them. It works both ways. If you are asked to surrender either raise your marker or do what you have to do. You don't have to surrender and alot of people don't. There is no 20 foot rule in the Castle or the Pill Box, or on the speedball field.
  • Barrel Taps/Knife Kills. If someone taps or touches you with their barrel you are eliminated.
  • NO OVERSHOOTING. It only takes one shot to eliminate someone. Five shots is to many. Sometimes it happens. Please, do not do it intentionally.
  • NO PROFANITY! Sesame Street rule. If you can't say it on Sesame Street you can't say it here.
  • NO UNSPORTSMANSHIP like conduct. Treat others as you want to be treated.
  • NO CHEATING. Paintball is an honor sport. If you are hit, call yourself out and leave the playing field. NO WIPING, NO PLAYING ON.
  • Ref calls are final. DO NOT ARGUE WITH THE REFEREES.
  • Discharge your markers in the chronograph area or on the field only. No dry firing in the parking lot or staging areas.
  • We have a three stike rule for violators of the rules. First offense - Warning. Second offense - Sit out a game. Third offense - Done for the day.
  • Watch the terrain. it's uneven in areas. We have stumps, roots, holes, mud, etc.
  • We play 20 minute games with 10 minute intervals.
  • Play hard - Play fair and most of all HAVE FUN!!!
